My apologies if responses to queries recently posted to this newsgroup
seem not to be forthcoming.  As you are all no doubt aware, the netnews
system is being increasingly flooded with ads for get-rich-quick schemes
and other inappropriate material, and that these postings are being chased
by vigilante "cancelbots" originating from who-knows-where and doing
who-knows-what.  The battle between the spammers and the cancelbots seems
to be taking a toll on the netnews system itself, to the extent that
clients and servers become confused, legitimate messages are lost or
ignored, and an inordinate amount of time must be devoted to cleaning up
the mess.  For the past several days, I haven't been able to read any
newsgroups, even though I know messages are coming in, due to some kind of
malfunction related to all this.  Hopefully it will be fixed soon.  In the
meantime, if you have questions or problems to report, you might do better
to send them by email to [e-mail].
